The powerful patch pelted body of Xayide sat on his haunches, shade from the nearby trees falling over him. This place was sacred to the wolves of Exodious, and he could taste what they felt on the air. He had not known Cobalt, but he had heard that he had been the pup of the alpha and alphess, and that he had, obviously, died. He had protected them when the humans had came, and various powers had gone on the fritz. Xayide himself had seemed schizophrenic because of the tug of war going on between the spirits inside of him. He was glad that was behind him. Vespastius had almost caused him to shred the elder Blacksilver, and that, he was certain, would not have been a good thing.

And now he sat, reflecting on this and looking at the stones that marked Cobalt's grave and the pup soulstone. What had he been like, the large gray wolf wondered. What had gone through his head as he had died? Was it memories, regrets, his loved ones? Had it been swift, or long and drawn out? Had he even had time to reflect on his character? Xayide knew that if he were to die right now, he'd think of the mountain and the decisions he had made, as well as the consequences that had come from them. Xayide was marked, he knew that. He'd never make it to the eternal hunting grounds, but instead, be sent to hell or suffer in purgatory. He knew this. But still he held onto some hope. Perhaps if he turned his life around on Earth the afterlife wouldn't be so terrible. Perhaps he'd even be honoured. Like Cobalt.

Xayide's sweeping shoulders were slightly hunched, as he looked on. He didn't know what to do. Things in this pack were so different from the place and pack that had been his home before. He was far less social than he had been... he hardly knew anyone! And for a wolf that was normally social, it was hard. He wasn't fitting in. And he didn't know what to do to help it. The great wolf sighed, his head drooping slightly to look at the ground.

Time.

All he needed was time.

What had brought him to Exodious? It was a difficult question for the yellow eyed brute. Had it been famine that brought him here? Had it been betrayal? Stupidity? Loneliness? Oh, it was a combination of all of they above, he was sure-- but it was such a tangled mass of emotions and events it was hard to decipher-- especially with eight deprived beings squabbling for control of one perfect body. What brought him to Exodious wasn't exactly something he liked to talk about or think about, and it certainly wasn't something he felt open to talking to Nixtanel about.

Luckily, he was saved by the arrival of Vixen-- the alphess. As if he needed that. When shehad let him in the pack, he had been overcome with the urge to rip out her throat. Which wasn't a good thing at all. And now she had a pup on her heels to top it off.

The large skulled male dipped his head in respect and greeting for the large, white she wolf and the pup that followed closely behind. Things were difficult for Vixen now-- with her mate and eldest living son gone to make a home for the latter, and her youngest fea pup dying and the stress being caused by some other She-wolf that was around named Persephone was enough to knock out any wolf. Vixen was holding up though, which proved her a steady and strong wolf to lead the pack-- even if she let the social side take over now and then. It must be difficult for her to come back to this place, where her son was buried. Xayide had no children, and thus didn't know the fear and joy it was to have pups of his own. Perhaps someday he would.

The silver male bowed deeply to Torrent, in an entirely ridiculous and grandiose manner just for fun-- he was sure the pup would like being bowed to like he was some great alpha or god. His large yellow eyes gave the small pup a wink, before allowing himself to be drawn up to his regular, upright position.

"Just out for a stroll... I don't really have much of a reason to be here." It was true-- he hadn't known Cobalt, and he wasn't exactly sure what the pup soulstone was, but hey-- it was a change of pace for him. Besides-- it looked like this was where all the important people met. And he had no problem being part of that crew.
